Earth Day is approaching!

With Earth Day approaching i felt the need to look up information and activities to do with the wee ones that really matter. Planting a tree crossed my mind, but that's something we try to do every year. I really wanted to talk to them this year about global warming, and what we can do to try to protect our earth. I found the following web sites to help us on our way:

Organic Farming Activity Book

kids for saving earth

Earth Force

epa.gov/earthday/

We started today learning about the importance of organic farming, as well as the importance of supporting our local organic farmers! We discussed agricultural contaminants and the effects that they are having on our environment. Organic Farming benefits are immeasurable.

The celebration of Earth Day gives all off us the opportunity to share with our young ones about the importance of doing our part to help in the quest for a healthier earth for everyone's future. It also helps everyone to remember that it takes everyone to make this world a better place!

Sunday!

I realized that I didn't post Sundays picture from last week! So here it is....

366 Days of Pictures in 2012!-Days100-106

Wow! More than 100 days have already passed us by in 2012! Time sure is flying! We have definitely already had a very busy 2012. I feel that I haven't dedicated near enough time to my blog, however I have kept up with taking a picture a day!

The spring is always a great time for floral pictures. This week has certainly brought me many vegetation shot opportunities.

.                                 Monday~My touch of Hawaii right in my dining room....

Tuesday~My hubby is the one with the green thumb at our house. All flowers can thank him for their survival here.

Wednesday~Some people don't like dandelions. I look at them as a welcome friend, come back from a long winter trip. Their presence is a sure sign of spring.

Thursday~Well you can't have the dandelion without the dandelion seed head!

Friday was zoo school day. It was a perfect sunny day to spend at the zoo with two of my girls (the boy was there too, just not in this shot). Embracing the love in this shot!

Every Saturday this time of year is spent, in most part, watching wrestling in a gym.  No matter how many times I tell the boy not to watch me while he's wrestling sometimes he just can't resist, especially when a camera is involved. What a ham!

Hope your week was great too! Happy spring!

366 Days of Pictures in 2012!-Days 93-99

Last week's pictures were somewhat of a hodgepodge that requires little explanation. Between schoolwork, activities, preparation for Easter, and the boys being home from college, the shots that I took were more about trying to get a good shot of something than focusing on anything in particular.

Monday~The curious cat.

Tuesdays are wrestling days.

Wednesday, which is normally dance day, we got to take a break. The girl used this time for a new hair do.

Thursday~We're still anticipating the arrival of our Praying Mantis babies.

Friday, although somewhat cool was a very sun shining beautiful day.

Saturday brought much outdoor playtime. The tuckered "old lady" decides to take a nap after a lot of running after the wee ones.

Sunday brings us to Easter...It was hard to decide which picture to use for this day. How can you resist the innocence of a toddler enjoying their first real egg coloring.

Hope everyone's Easter was beautiful and full of life!

366 Days of Pictures in 2012!-Days 86-92

The past week was a little cooler than it's been, but I do believe still warmer than normal for this time of year. Monday I wanted to get out and take pictures of the beautiful blossoms on our ornamental peach tree in our front yard before the threatened frost came and did them in. I'm not the green thumb in the family, that would be the hubby. I think the blossoms still look like they're hanging in there, he says it's too soon to tell what damage the frost has done to the plants.

Tuesday takes us to gymnastics. After class the kids get to jump on the trampoline into a pit. The girl takes full advantage of the opportunity.

Wednesday is dance night. The girl does both ballet and jazz. She loves to dance. After dance the kids had their last day of AWANA for the season. When we got home the girl was so tuckered I could barely get her up the stairs to bed.

Thursday's picture comes from not having taken a picture all day, seeing my opportunity and taking it! Orange Cat often makes a good model cat.

Friday brought some drip drip drop little April, well almost April showers. I couldn't resist trying to get a drip drop shot.

Saturday was spent how many of our Saturdays are spent, at a wrestling tournament. It being our home tournament I got to not only watch the little boy wrestle, and take first place I might add, I also was able to watch the older boy referee. Having been a wrestler himself he's very supportive of his little brother. As a matter of fact, both older boys come out from college to watch their little brother wrestle quite often!

Sunday we went to a birthday party for a 3 year old. All three boys and 2 of my girls went with me. The weather was nice enough to get back outside. It was pretty fun watching the "young adults" enjoying the coloring books and crayons while the younger kids weren't around.

Off to a new week and new adventures!
